PostHeaderIcon Google Nexus S

This past year, Google produced a unique Android phone, the Nexus One. It turned out a neat handset, designed for the search giant by HTC, but as it was mostly sold direct by Google it never became mass-market (HTC’s Desire stole its thunder). This year Google is here up with another own-brander, produced by Samsung, the Google Nexus S.

Like Samsung’s Samsung galaxy s, this phone features a gloss-black plastic casing, rendering it light and pleasant to touch. Its undulating shape means it’s catwalk-thin in places, though bumpy in other people.

Dazzling AMOLED display
Switch it on along with the 4in screen shines. Even though this is bigger than the iPhone’s display, the telephone doesn’t feel significantly larger. The screen isn’t as high-resolution as Apple’s nevertheless it still catches the eye – it’s AMOLED, a super-vivid technology of which Samsung particularly excels.

The display is impressively high-contrast: place it beside the Nexus one mobile and you’ll really begin to see the difference. The touch-sensitive lights under the screen (Back, Menu, Search and Home buttons) are perfectly placed and responsive – around the earlier Google phone you had to press just above the icon to activate them.

You will possibly not notice it once you go through the screen but it’s concave, gently curved to hug see your face more closely when you’re making calls. A gimmick, perhaps, however it does help to stop scratches should you place it face-down over a flat working surface.

The 5MP camera has a flash, unlike the earlier Nexus one mobile, so suddenly lower light situations aren’t from bounds, therefore it may even pull an unusual level of detail away from dark scenes devoid of the flash. However, the shutter lag means you’ll miss more magic moments than you capture. The front-facing camera can’t stretch to hi-def but captures useable, colourful footage in the event the conditions aren’t too challenging.

Android 2.3
It’s reassuring to know the Nexus S is running the newest version of Android (‘Gingerbread’ 2.3), especially as you’re subject to your handset manufacturer with regards to OS upgrades. New at all to Android 2.3 is often a ‘Manage apps’ option that basically replaces the job Killer app, permitting you to quit any programs which have been running in the background and leeching your battery and bandwidth.

The virtual keyboard has been improved, too, so now there’s less possibility of typos, aided by a more user-friendly auto-complete feature.

One unusual feature is NFC – Near Field Communication. This is the same technology utilised by Oyster cards and might offer extra functionality in the foreseeable future, but right now there’s no chance to exploit it.

Blazing speeds
There’s enough power inside 1GHz processor to drive everything along at speed. Menus and homescreens slide around responsively and multitasking is not any problem. However, the Nexus S doesn’t have a slot for any memory, so you’re limited by the 16GB of built-in storage. That’s acceptable for most uses, but does mean you won’t be able to store a lot of audio and video at anybody time.

The lack of removable storage, it turns out, could be the phone’s major fault – one among a massive selection of successes on the decidedly attractive handset.

PostHeaderIcon Nokia N95 vs Samsung i8510 – which one is better?

Nokia N95 was, and is, probably the most advanced smartphone in the S60 lineup. Before too long Nokia released latest version, N95-8 that have 8 GB of internal storage along with a larger display. However it can be a mistake to think that N95 will likely be unrivaled. Samsung Company recently announced its reply to Nokia N95 – Samsung i8510. This smartphone on S60 platform has amazing specifications, and has all chances to turn into a real “N95 killer”. Let’s look closer on both smartphones (N95-8GB version and i8510), compare them, and decide, what one could be the winner with this comparison.

Design and controls

Both phones look virtually identical, are both stated in form-factor of sliders. However, while N95 can slide in two positions, revealing multimedia buttons or number keys, i8510 is bound to usual just one way of sliding. It is difficult to tell, whether this is an benefit of N95, but it is a genuine approach to overcome your music or other media functions for the phone. Besides two soft keys and dial / reject buttons under them, there’s 2 unlabeled areas that seem to be like buttons. Even considering them as unknown buttons, N95 has 2 times more buttons on its front, 8 buttons instead of 4 in Nokia i8510. Both phones have 5-directional navigational button.

Interesting enough, both phones come with an indication of how much memory they have got left, it’s placed on top left corner from the front part. They’re slightly different about the back part; Samsung i8510 camera could be closed to prevent lens damage, while N95 has no protection on camera lens in any respect. Samsung also offers two holes for built-in dynamics on back.

PostHeaderIcon HTC Wildfire

With Christmas looming just over the horizon scouting around for the perfect christmas present once again starts. With a lot of teens wanting a trendy and cool phone a mobile is likely to be an ideal device. Though using the iPhones costing an arm and also a leg and being mostly unaffordable the search needs to go a little farther. An intelligent, sleek, sexy and uiseful phone on a tight budget of some type could be ideal, right? In steps HTC’s excellent budget smartphone, the HTC Wildfire.

Although HTC aren’t quite the important name major player of Apple and their “i” brand (iphone, ipod and ipad) they are an extremely competent rival with their phones increasing in popularity overf the past few years. And a rising popularity they have got increased their product range and also have now covered all of the smartphone market, from your too much business smartphone’s towards the basic ones that have been cheaper plus more suited to your teenagers. Priced competetively with packages only £7.50 30 days in the UK (and £25 from Vodafone currently includes 300 minutes, 3000 texts and 500MB internet useage) the HTC Wildfire is much more affordable than the iPhones.

Though every parent scanning this at this time thinks about the problem that theres something fishy. How could a rival cost so very little when compared to iPhone. Well the thing is the Wildfire isn’t the major phone from HTC, it’s actually a budget version with the phone. Though praoclaiming that it can everything a expected in a smartphone but is slightly smaller and slightly less powerful. The screen at 3.2 inches is slightly small compared to many of the others as well as the processor (528mhz) doesn’t match those of the most up-to-date iPhones and the Htc desire mobile phone (the large brother from the Wildfire), though they’re basically the only let downs. It’s funny to remember though how the let downs in terms of both processor and screen do actually extend the phones life of the battery (as it is using a lesser amount of it to own).

PostHeaderIcon Apple iPhone 4 16GB

I’ve just bought the Apple iphone 4, i provide an Iphone 3GS too. To be able you can imagine, I could not wait to have it out the box and start having fun with it, and looking to warrant why I simply spent so much to have another Iphone!

Physically, the IP4 has a smaller footprint, slimmer, sexier plus more classy. No doubt the IP4 is made for everyone, from a geek to a Diva. The clarity with the screen is amazing and in comparison on the 3GS, is clear, even about the website, aside from the applications. My first impressions were great.
But lets get in the IP4…

It’s faster as opposed to 3GS, supports multitasking (to help you use multiple applications at the same time) and sports a 5mp camera with flash and a camera about the front. Features the prior models really lacked! And also this allows you to have your ‘face time’ while using ones you’re keen on. Basically, video calling. But a camera with a phone is actually only a gimmick. Lets be honest, you didn’t obtain a Iphone because of the camera. Neither did I….I aquired it because…well now considering it…I don’t know!!!!!

Moving forward, there is not much difference to the Apple iphone. Yes, it looks better. Yes, it features a better camera. Yes, it allows video calling. But, are these well worth over £400? No. Personally i think like We’ve just bought my phone all over again. Things are a similar. And in addition to this annoying is the fact that Apple use the slogan ‘changes everything again’. NO You do not!!! Its just a better camera and also a better display! Measuring only if you compare it to its predecessor. However there are phones on the market with 10megapixel cameras!
